  • 3 ounces cream cheese, brought to room temperature or cut into cubes
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups chopped fully-cooked ham
  • 2 cups frozen green peas
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp cold water
  • 1 Tbsp Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel seed mix or other seed of your choice (such as sesame or poppy)

  • Heat cream cheese, milk and mustard in a two-quart suacepan over low heat, stirring constantly, just until smooth. Stir in ham and peas.
  • Spoon ham mixture down the middle of the pastry rectangle. Lift pastry over filling, crisscrossing strips over the top (see photos).
  • Beat egg yolk and cold water in a small bowl; brush over the top of the braid with a pastry brush. Sprinkle with seeds
  • Bake for about 25 minutes or until pastry is puffed and light golden brown.
