These are such a delicious snack, and perfect for gift-giving. While most candied nut recipes use a lot more sugar, this recipe allows the pecans equal room to shine.
Lightly Candied Pecans
A delicious snack that's made with less sugar. Perfect for gift-giving.
Servings: 2 Cups
Ingredients
- 1 egg white
- 1 Tbsp water
- 8 ounce bag of pecan pieces I use Trader Joe’s
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250° F (120 degrees C).
- Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl.
- Whisk egg white and water together in a separate bowl until frothy.
- Toss pecans in the egg white mixture. Mix sugar mixture into pecan mixture until pecans are evenly coated
- Spread coated pecans onto a baking sheet (silicone baking mats make this much easier to clean up!).
- Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, until pecans are evenly browned, about 1 hour.
